Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP)
EPP is a major area where we can reduce the city’s impact on the environment. EPP means comparing two products or services that serve the same purpose and purchasing the one that is better for the environment. EPP combines low cost, good performance, and reduced environmental impacts.
Resources
There are fourteen commodity groups where EPP are available. The commodity group links will become active once information has been entered for that group(see left column). From the list, select a commodity group for: 1) access to contracts with EPP; or, 2) information on environmental and health issues, EPP standards and specifications, and resources/eco-labels. All products are LEED-compliant, where applicable.
The 14 commodity groups are:
